The ground I walk is a meditation in humanity. My walking, which is mostly at Abbeyleix bog, indulges consideration of our rich heritage on this island. It is steeped in the earth and the natural world around us and lives within many people I meet. It's getting so hard to listen to and hear that world.
This environment inspires my work, both the place and people. Following a recent show which explored the nature in rather than of hands, I have returned to the cathartic bog with expressive atmospheric skies and its rich, everchanging landscape. It's like meeting an old friend who makes you feel safe and sound.
